Sweet little Reese celebrated her first birthday! I was thrilled when her mom decided to bring donuts instead of a traditional cake, it’s nice to change things up sometimes! Although Reese seemed a bit scared of the donuts, she looked adorable in her Winter Wonderland-themed outfit. Reese is absolutely precious with her chubby cheeks and stunning blue eyes. It was fun to include her big brother join in for some photos, they are both such cute kids.

I got to meet adorable little Isaiah last year for his newborn photoshoot, and he has somehow gotten even cuter! He is so handsome with the cutest little smile. His “One and Loved” theme for his one year session and 1st birthday party is one of the best ideas I’ve heard yet.
For one year sessions, I like to start with some portraits, add in some balloons and “ONE” letters, then get to the most fun part with the CAKE! Smashing a cake can get messy, and babies always love it when their parents choose to wrap up the session with some adorable baby tub shots. Isaiah made the whole session a blast and we ended up with so many sweet photos.
Dayven’s Lion Wild One Cake Smash was a hit! Cutie Dayven, his parents and big brother drove to my home studio in Menifee from the Anaheim area for his first birthday cake smash photoshoot. Because he’s a Leo, he had a Wild One lion theme for his session. He was a bit scared of my studio light, and wanted to snuggle his momma a bit, but it all worked out in the end. It was such a treat to meet this dapper little birthday boy and his beautiful family! He was a little unsure of the cake, but so photogenic and fun. A little tub time was the perfect way to end the session.

I had so much fun setting up for little beauty Camila’s 1st birthday cake smash session! Her upcoming birthday party will be a Tangled theme, so I wanted to incorporate some beautiful gold and lavender colors by making a balloon garland. Her momma wanted some family and parent shots, so we started off with some family photos, then got some sweet shots of little Camila showing off her pretty dress. She wasn’t very sure about her cake or the strange lady pointing a camera at her 🙂 but I hope she will have a blast celebrating her big day next week! I love personalizing each baby’s session according to their own personality and whatever parents would like to highlight their little one. First birthday sessions can include a cake (also known as a smash cake session or cake smash session) plus baby bath shots at the end (I have a few baby-sized tubs that are absolutely adorable), making these sweet sessions extra fun!
