I loved meeting beautiful little Poiema and her momma for a photoshoot to celebrate her upcoming 1st birthday. Poiema looked absolutely adorable in her strawberry dress and red chucks, which made for some extra cute portraits. I was so excited to see cutie Graham and his family again after getting to photograph Graham as a newborn last year. I loved that his momma specifically requested black and white portraits. Black and white portraits have a timeless quality, and, as the great Canadian photographer Ted Grant said, “When you photograph people in black and white, you photograph their souls.” 1
