When is the best time for newborn photos? I’ve found that 5-10 days old is ideal, but if you’ve missed this window, contact me anyway! Babies under 2 weeks old tend to be more sleepy for photos, and their skin tends to be a little more calm. After birth, baby’s skin tends to break out, peel, or become red or jaundiced…but that’s ok! Experienced newborn photographers can work their editing magic to make your perfect baby’s skin look smoothe and perfect (unless you’d like to request having your baby’s skin left as is, of course).

Preemies often need a little more time before coming in for photos too. I’ve photographed newborns up to 8 weeks old, and although newborn photos under 2 weeks is recommended, it’s definitely not a deal-breaker.

Now on to showing off little Ava…what a beautiful baby! Her momma came with lots of fun ideas in mind for her newborn photos, and it was such a blast to get to capture them for her. And what a beautiful momma she is too! It’s always tough to come up with adequate words when the photos do a much better job to speak for themselves…
