Beautiful little Amy | Baby Girl’s Newborn Session

I met this cute family last year for family photos with their adorable little boy, and was thrilled when they reached out to schedule their baby girl’s newborn session this fall! Big brother was at school so he missed this photoshoot, but they have the most beautiful family of four!

Wesley’s Preemie Newborn Photos

I had the pleasure of meeting this cute family during their firstborn’s newborn session, and again for his first birthday photoshoot. I was thrilled when they reached out for their second baby boy’s newborn photos!
Sweet baby Wesley arrived a couple of months early and spent some time in the NICU. Thankfully, he was right on track for his newborn photos when he visited just a week before his actual due date. During our session, he managed to sneak in plenty of adorable smiles!
Capturing preemie photos is always special for me. These sessions not only celebrate the unique journey of these little ones but also provide families with cherished memories during a time that can be both challenging and joyful. Each smile from baby W reminded me of the resilience and strength preemies have in their early moments of life!

Oh Two-dles! E’s 2nd birthday Mickey photoshoot

Adorable E’s 2nd birthday photoshoot was so much fun! Photographing two-year-olds can be challenging, but once cutie E warmed up his smiles were contagious. His dad pulled out all the stops to bring out those cheerful grins. It’s clear that little E is a big fan of Mickey Mouse, which made the session even more fun. I loved meeting him and his parents!

Capturing Milestones: 6 month photos with the cutest baby boy

I always love capturing milestones throughout baby’s first year. I had the pleasure of meeting this handsome baby boy during his newborn photoshoot earlier this spring. It’s amazing how much he has grown since then, and his smile is absolutely adorable!
I’m currently offering a complimentary 6 month photoshoot with newborn sessions, with an option for an upgrade. When his mom decided to go for the upgrade, I couldn’t have been happier –he is just too cute to resist!

First birthday cake smash photoshoot

Handsome Baby A was full of smiles when he showed up for his first birthday cake smash photoshoot. He got a little sad during the cake smash segment, but it made for some adorable and real shots.
Incorporating a cake smash into a first birthday photoshoot is a popular choice among parents. It not only celebrates the occasion but also provides an opportunity for little ones to explore the textures and tastes of cake for the first time. Despite a minor hiccup in mood, Baby A’s photos captured the significance of his first birthday milestone.
First birthday photoshoots are a great reminder of how quickly time flies and how precious these early moments are. I hope A’s parents will cherish these photos forever!

Josie’s 2nd Birthday Photos!

I was so excited when Josie’s momma contacted me for 2nd birthday photos after a wonderful first birthday photoshoot last year. This time, she specifically requested some of my favorite shots: mommy-and-me photos and some beautiful individual portraits of Josie. As expected, two-year-olds can be a bit tricky sometimes. Josie wasn’t exactly eager to cooperate for the photos (which is pretty typical for her age), but her adorable expressions made it all worthwhile. It all worked out in the end — she and her momma are both such beauties!

Baby portraits, cake smash, and tub time!

This post is long overdue, but she is too cute not to share. During this little beauty’s session, I got to capture some of my favorite first birthday shots: Portraits, cake smashes, and tub time!

Baby portraits are the best way to showcase the expressive nature of little ones and highlight their adorable features! When it’s time for the cake at the end of the session, it’s always fun to see what the baby will do. Some dive right in, others are shy and careful. It’s a great way to let the baby’s personality shine through.

While I usually end first birthday sessions with a cake smash, I always leave the option for some tub time after the cake smash photos. This not only helps clean up the mess but also adds an extra layer of fun to the session. Babies typically enjoy splashing around, which results in candid and joyful photos — it’s usually baby’s favorite part! This cutie LOVED the tub portion of the session and showed off her smile in abundance.

Kennedy’s 1st birthday cake smash

Kennedy’s 1st birthday cake smash was full of her gorgeous smiles and beautiful brown eyes! She was so happy and joyful through every moment, even with a bit of a mishap with the cake at the end. Her personality is every bit as beautiful as she is, and I loved meeting her and her parents.

1st Birthday Cake Smash Photography

Cake smash photography is such a special way to celebrate a baby’s first birthday! A lot of families love to display these photos at their baby’s first birthday party, or simply as a way to commemorate this precious milestone.

A typical cake smash photo session consists of:

  • Pre-cake portraits: I love to capture baby’s portraits and personality and do a few different setups before bringing out the cake!
  • Cake smash: The main event where the baby gets to dig in to the cake. Some babies absolutely love it while others are more timid, but that’s the beauty of every session…getting to see baby’s personality and curiosity shine through!
  • Clean-up: This can include some cute photos with baby playing in a little tub — babies usually love this part the most!

When planning a cake smash session, consider the following tips:

  • Choose a theme or color scheme that complements your baby’s personality or birthday party decor.
  • I recommend light or white cakes with whipped cream frosting or “naked” frosting. Buttercream tends to be a bit sticky and difficult for babies to swallow.
  • Be prepared for a mess — frosting tends to get everywhere! Bring extra clothes for both the baby and yourself.

I have a variety of outfits, headbands, banners, cake stands, cake toppers, and balloons. Clients are always welcome to bring anything to make their session unique. Personally, I prefer to keep things simple to truly focus on the baby, but I’m always happy to discuss client’s wishes for their baby’s first birthday photos! After all, babies only turn one once…make it special with a 1st birthday photoshoot! Asher | Newborn Preemie Photographer

As a newborn photographer, I’ve had the privilege of working with preemies to overdue babies and everything in between, from the tiniest 4 pound little ones and even a whopping 11 pounder! There is something extra special about photographing premature babies like little Asher. I was so glad his momma reached out to me from Murrieta when she was looking for a newborn preemie photographer.

Preemies like Asher are little fighters from the moment they enter this world. Asher made his early arrival at just 33 weeks and spent his first month in the NICU. At the time of his newborn session, he was a little over a month old, but still hadn’t even reached his due date! This tiny guy was the epitome of newborn sweetness. He still instinctively curled up as newborns often do, mimicking how they would curl up in their cozy womb.

If you’re expecting a new baby in the Menifee area, I would love to be the one to capture their first newborn portraits. Preemies, older newborns, and babies of every size are always welcome in my studio. Reach out today to get on my calendar – those first newborn days are so fleeting!
